Nikos Karagiannidis is a data management and database expert with a strong research background and a PhD in computer science and databases from the National Technical University of Athens, acquired under the supervision of eminent data scientist Professor Timos Sellis. Before joining IOHK in 2018, Nikos worked for over a decade as a data warehouse and big data architect, and was the technical lead of data warehouse development for the largest telecommunications company in Greece. He is an Oracle database specialist with many years of experience working with real-world Oracle databases, and is an Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP). Nikos is an experienced functional programmer, and primarily codes in Haskell. He is also the author and basic maintainer of the DBFunctor package, which is an ETL Haskell library, and the author of an ETL DSL called Julius, which is also written in Haskell.

Nikos works for Input Output Research Limited.
