Tony Quinn is a digital and print journalist who has been freelance since 2015, having left the Financial Times after 15 years. He started at IOHK in 2018 alongside editing for The Times and The Sunday Times, as well as writing and lecturing. Before that, his career includes being editor of BBC Acorn User and later group editor at BBC Magazines/Redwood Publishing, where he launched and/or edited seven magazines. He was then director of degree and postgraduate schemes at West Herts College in Watford for seven years. He founded Magforum.com in 2001 and has edited numerous books for publishers such as Pearson and Addison-Wesley.
Tony has been an external examiner for universities in London and lectured in the UK and overseas. His publications include ‘Magazines since 1914’ in The Cambridge History of the Book in Britain (CUP, 2019) and A History of British Magazine Design (V&A, 2015).
He holds a degree in engineering science from the University of Warwick and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
