Andrew Bednoff

Andrew Bednoff is a server-side systems software developer in Rust for GNU/Linux containerized cloud-native environments. He has gained his knowledge and experience in practice while working in the telecoms, financial technology, and banking industries. Andrew has programmed in many languages and has continuously used Debian GNU/Linux since he was at school. Now he programs in Rust and enjoys using Docker, and OpenFaaS, while leading the adoption of DevOps practices in teams.Andrew has a strong interest in freedom and privacy on the internet, decentralized finances, cryptography, and open source software. At present he is focused on building high-load, highly distributed cloud and networking systems for projects that bring freedom and privacy to many people. He joined IOHK in 2021.In his spare time, Andrew enjoys hiking with friends, and being outdoors among the mountains and lakes of Kyrgyzstan. He also collects wrist watches - time is a concept he finds most intriguing.
